"Copper Wood" Chalcocite/Djurleite replacing wood in sandstone rock matrix accented with Green Malachite and Blue Azurite. Though this was a copper mine there was also silver though not commonly seen. This lucky specimen has a show of silver. Large, over 3 pounds.

Origins: Agua Zarca section of the Chinle Formation (Triassic), Nacimiento Mine, Sandoval County, New Mexico, USA
Chalcocite and rarer Djurleite replacing organic wood. The wood was buried and compacted into sandstone then chalcocite leached through the sandstone and precipitated in the voids created by the decomposed wood.
